Fire Trails
Sydney, December 18, 2021
Carols in the Domain was on over the weekend, so I headed over to Kirribilli to capture the fireworks over the always beautiful Sydney Opera House… not that I had planned to be there for them!
Instead I had messaged my friend Matt Hudson to ask if any fireworks were scheduled anywhere, and his response was, ‘Come to Kirribilli’.
So I did.
The fireworks were scheduled for anywhere between 8pm and 11pm, so we just had to wait and see… only to suddenly freak out when they started going off at around 8:30 when none of us were ready!
So instead we hung around for the next 2.5 hours waiting for them to go off again… and it got to the point where we weren’t sure it was ever going to happen before suddenly they burst into glorious life.
And it’s a fact of life that no matter how old you are, you can’t help but ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ over fireworks.
This image is a composite: one image to capture the Opera House itself, and the other for the fireworks. Both were taken on the same night from the same place with the same focal length, with the only difference being the settings.
This image is also for sale in my store, so why not check it out!
Stay tuned for more photos to come from this night!
