Perfect Places

Merewether, June 13, 2020

A reverse sunset turns the clouds pink above the starting blocks of Merewether Ocean Baths in Newcastle, Australia.

A long exposure brings out the colour over the starting blocks of the Merewether Ocean Baths in Newcastle, Australia.

The clouds didn't really have that much colour in them to the naked eye, but with a little bit a long exposure thanks to my 6 stop and 4 stop graduated neutral density filters, I was able to eke out these soft pinks and purples in the clouds.

Unfortunately I can't quite take full credit for this photo as the shutter button was actually clicked by a friend's child. An aspiring photographer to be - and if you've seen @emmaphotoaus's stories... a model as well!

Wait. Does that mean she actually owns copyright for this image? Bugger! Ah well. She's five. What's she gonna do about it?!? (Sorry Indie...)

I acknowledge the Awabakal people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which I took this photo, and extend my acknowledgement and respects to the Traditional Custodians of all the incredible lands of which I am so lucky to live and create upon on what always was and always will be First Nations land.
